An Official Announcement

After much debate, and careful thought, we as a band, and as a family, have come to a decision. As we pursue the official release of our first "real" album, we are realizing that we want to be firm in our ideas of who we are, of what our music is all about, and how we want to be known.

So, we have decided to officially change our band name. "The Great Interference" has stood us well, but we are wanting a name that will represent who we are as a family.

So.. without further ado, may we introduce...

the band at Rambellwood

or, simply, Rambellwood.

"Rambellwood" is our home, where we live, lying in the pleasant Piney Woods of East Texas, but it is also who we are, as a family. It is where we share our lives with those we love. It is where we sit, gathered in our living room, and share our hearts with each other. It is where we congregate around a laden table, or assemble to rest in His presence. It is where my parents have built their home, and raised their family.

The Lord has taken us all on an incredible journey in these past months. The discovery of Mom's illness shook the roots of our foundation, and pulled away the glass from our eyes. He has given us a new vision, a new knowledge, of who we are... as a family.

And so, as a family, we are...

Every Life Is A Story has a unique sound, different, in its way, from all our other songs. We love that about it, love how it shares our vision to have no musical boundaries, to reach out for new ideas, for fresh sound, to make our music a genre of its own.

Last summer we won second place in Tyler Morning Telegraph's "Song of Faith" contest. This Saturday, the top ten finalists will be performing a special concert, sharing their winning songs. And, yes, that means us!

The concert is at Green Acres Baptist Church, at the Crosswalk Conference Center
At 6:30 p.m.

The Course of the River

God is raising us up. We don't know where he is taking us, what he is laying on the path ahead, but we will follow, with all our hearts.

Our mother was diagnosed, three weeks ago, with leiomyosarcoma cancer.

It has shaken us, frightened us, and drawn us into the presence of God. Many of you have already heard of Mom's illness, and your prayers, and messages, and contributions, are a blessing beyond words.

Thank you.

We move forward, doing what is before us to do, waiting for wisdom and praying for peace. Only God can know the end of our story, and we will leave it in his hands.

Beyond Belief

News

The Lord has been doing things in our lives, working in wonder, the way only He can. He has taken us by surprise, and left us shaken with His blessing.

This summer we entered a contest. We thought little of it. We always do. But this time, something happened. This time, it went further then it had ever gone. The contest was the Tyler Morning Telegraph's Song of Faith contest. We entered our song, Color Me.

In late August, we received a phone call from the paper's Religion editor, Patrick Butler. He had highlighted six Song of Faith contestants in the week before's Saturday edition, and was working on five more for the upcoming Saturday. He wanted to interview us.

That Thursday, the four of us, Sam, James, Emma, and Johanna, found ourselves climbing an interior staircase, to the newsroom, little expecting what was coming.

It began when Mr. Butler mentioned the band that the first prize winner would be privledged to meet, Jars of Clay. Whoa! We looked at each other. Of all bands, Jars of Clay tops our list.

So, we had our photo taken, and proceeded to the interview. We had arrived a little later than expected, so we only had a short time to talk with Mr. Butler. He had an over-the-phone interview with, guess who, the keyboardist and founder of Jars of Clay, Mr. Charlie Lowell, only 15 min. after we arrived.

So, quickly, we sat down and began to talk. We began to share about the song, about how it was written, about how God works in us. Mr. Butler wanted more time with us. He asked us to come back in an hour. We agreed.

Little did we know.

The time went its proverbial way, and we again climbed the stairs, traversed the hallway, and resumed our conversation. When we were seated, Mr. Butler proceeded to relate to us his conversation with Mr. Lowell. Then, he told us. In his own words, published that Saturday in his column....

"When the kids came back, I asked politely, "Can I send Charlie 'Color Me?' He said he
wanted to 'play it for the guys.'"

Their faces looked like they hadn't heard right.

"You mean, send it to Jars of Clay?" they finally asked, looking at each other for clari-
fication. "Really?" And in a moment of time Emma Ramsey and her siblings went from
living in Winnsboro where next to no one has noticed them, to living on the moon. I
will cherish their looks for years to come."

Were we shocked? Yes? Blessed beyond belief, suddenly exceedingly curious about what God was doing. Jars of Clay listening to our song? It was hardly believable. But it was true.

A week later, we took second place in the contest, and went home, full of thought. Would anything come of all this? Most likely not. Four hours ago I was pretty sure it was in the past. We'd made connections, with possible futures in them, but that was all.

Now I know. God has His mighty hands tight around us, around our lives, and around our hearts. I got another call. Mr. Butler has gotten us two tickets to the Jars of Clay concert this Saturday.

And we will meet them.

Perhaps nothing will come of it. Perhaps something will. No matter which way, God has granted us an amazing gift. We will tell them how they have inspired us. We will ask them about our song. We will hear what they think.

It will be good, God good.

At the Crossroads again

It's official!

Join us July 11, 2009, at Crossroads Coffeehouse and Music Co., for a long awaited concert. Doors open at 7:00. Music begins at 7:30. Admission is $5 and $25 for a family of 5+.

Six Siblings, One Band, and an evening of Music and Film

The Ramseys are local artists who enjoy making music as a family. Their music is acoustic folk rock, intertwining drums and guitar with three vocals, piano, and cello. The night will include the premiere of their first music video and a showing of their creative 3 min. short film, "The Boy with $100".

Yes! Here are pictures at last. September seems so far behind us now, though it is only just November. And, since photos speak for themselves...

It was amazing being all together, all seven of us. Even Matthew joined in.

So Many Things

Our concert of the 19th went very well. Crossroads is fast becoming our favorite place. We had a good turnout and very little mistakes.

It's funny how you can see all your own mistakes so clearly up on stage, and yet afterwards, no one even noticed, or would have known. It makes your own worry about it rather insignificant, doesn't it? We, all of us, feel so blessed to be able to share our music and share our hearts, and... in the process, learn more about ourselves and about God.

New songs are brewing gently. They have not yet reached a full boil, but the leaves are there, and the water is growing hotter and hotter. Soon the water will flow into the leaves, and the fragrance of the song will spread all through the room.

Isn't God amazing?

Thank you Lynn and Lindy and Kate. You are an absolute, indescribable blessing. May God richly bless you.

A Cancellation

And a new scheduled date....

Due to possibility of our area being affected by Hurricane Ike, our concert, originally scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, the 13th, has been cancelled.

The concert has been rescheduled for Friday, the 19th. We are extremely sorry for any problems this may cause any of you. We hope you can still come to the new date!

We believe:

The most important four words in the universe are... Jesus Christ is Lord.

Our sovereign God is Creator of the universe and all things therein.

The goal of The Great Interference is to be a channel through which can flow "the river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High" (Ps. 46:4) and to encourage the saints to enthrone Jesus Christ in their hearts and lives as Lord of lords and King of kings (Rev. 17:14).
